IMPORTANT NOTE: Version 5. isn't backwards suitable for previous versions. We've rewrote the entire codebase so it’s essentially a completely new theme. Don't make an effort to improve your older installations with v5.+, it won't work. If you're already running a mature version, there's you don't need to use v5. since it is mostly exactly the same theme, we've just upgraded it to the new framework.
